Plans and billing
Last updated
DocBeam bills per Webflow site. Each site you connect becomes its own Library with its own plan, so a client site on Pro sits happily next to a personal project on Free.
The one exception is Unlimited, which covers your whole account.
For current prices and the full comparison table, see /#pricing.
What each plan includes
| Free | Starter | Pro | Unlimited | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Storage | 250 MB | 5 GB | 25 GB | 100 GB |
| Documents | 10 | 100 | 500 | unlimited |
| Largest file | 50 MB | 100 MB | 500 MB | 2 GB |
| Versions kept | none | 2 | 5 | 10 |
| Custom CDN domain | — | — | ✓ | ✓ |
| Bandwidth | unlimited | unlimited | unlimited | unlimited |
Annual billing is charged as ten months rather than twelve.
Per-site versus account-wide
Starter and Pro are bought for one Library at a time. You pick the site, you pick the plan, and that subscription applies to that Library only.
Unlimited is bought once for your whole account and covers every Library you have, including ones you add later. It’s a separate checkout — you can’t buy Unlimited from a single site’s billing page.
When DocBeam works out which limits apply to a Library, it checks in this order:
- Do you have an account-wide Unlimited subscription? Use that.
- Does this specific Library have an active subscription? Use that.
- Otherwise, Free.
Who can change the plan
On a Free Library, anyone with access to the underlying Webflow site can upgrade it. Whoever pays first becomes that Library’s billing owner.
After that, only the billing owner can change the plan:
Only the billing owner can change the plan for a paid site.
An account-wide Unlimited subscription doesn’t set a billing owner on any individual Library — it sits above them.
There are no DocBeam seats
Access comes from Webflow. Anyone who can access the Webflow site can manage its DocBeam Library — there are no separate invitations, seats or user management screens to keep in sync.
Add someone to the Webflow site and they have access. Remove them and they don’t.
Upgrading
From the dashboard, open the Library and go to its Billing page.
From the Designer panel, the Upgrade buttons deep-link to that same page — checkout happens in the dashboard, not inside Webflow.
Payment is handled by Stripe. DocBeam never sees or stores your card details.
Changing or cancelling
Both happen in the Stripe Customer Portal, which you can reach from the dashboard’s billing pages or from the Designer panel’s Settings. From there you can update your payment method, download invoices, change plan or cancel.
What happens when you downgrade
Downgrades are deliberately gentle. A cancelled or lapsed subscription drops the Library to Free — it doesn’t lock you out.
- Your files stay where they are and your links keep working.
- New uploads are subject to Free’s limits.
- If you’re storing more than Free allows, nothing is deleted — you just can’t add more until you’re back under.
- Version archives above the new plan’s cap are cleaned up the next time you replace or restore a file.
- A custom domain stops being available, but you can still remove it.
Deleting a Library
Deleting a Library is a soft delete with a 90-day grace period.
- The Library and its files are hidden but not destroyed.
- Its subscription is set to cancel at the end of the current billing period.
- Restore it within 90 days and everything comes back, subscription included.
- After 90 days, the files are permanently purged.
If you only want to stop paying, cancel the subscription rather than deleting the Library — cancelling keeps your files and links alive on Free.
